10 ways to be “on holiday” at home

Saturday morning.  A great time to be alive.  Rest up from the week.  Or alternatively shut your eyes and imagine yourself on a beach somewhere warm, the perfect breeze, sound of macaws, smell of roti bread cooking at the little bakery next door to your little homestay.

It doesn’t have to be like this. You don’t need to dream.  It’s not all or nothing.

So here’s 10 ways to have the same feeling of enjoyment as being on holidays in your everyday.

1. Play some music.

2. Make a nice healthy breakfast – like a fruit salad.

3. Open your doors to the outside throughout the house.

4. Get up early and do some yoga / meditation / a slow run.

5. Wear bare feet all day.

6. Throw away your to do list

7. Put away your phone for the day.

8. Have a beer at lunch time.

9. Don’t shower.

10. Wear the same undies two days in a row.

    I could sit all day in the garden listening to the birds or lying in a hammock reading my favourite book.
