    Why Sri Lanka? In summing up…it’s the vibe

    As news of our plan to travel out of Australia with our young family spreads from family to friends and acquaintances, one of the questions most commonly asked is “How did you choose Sri Lanka?” “Because we love it” I lamely reply. The truth is, up until writing this down, I have not had the time to articulate the exact reasons why we chose Sri Lanka other than it feels right for us as the place to start our adventure as a family of 5.     So we went overseas with a child: the result – awesomeness in Myanmar

    I clearly remember the moment that solidified my desire to continue travelling when we had our own family. I was waddling, 26+ weeks pregnant, up the large rock which is Sigirya, in Sri Lanka when I was passed by a young couple with a toddler perched happily in a hiking pack – they were all smiling – why wouldn’t you be? Here they were, showing their toddler the world…We would do the same!
